A message from Laural Briggs, NE Student Outreach

Thanks for accessing the Student Opportunities page of Argonne’s Nuclear Engineering (NE) Division. We who are members of the NE Division Student Outreach Committee would like to make you aware of what our committee does and invite you to contact us if we can be of any help to you.

The Student Outreach Committee is a standing committee within the NE Division.  It was established in April 2007 to serve as a resource center and point of contact for the various student outreach activities in which the NE Division participates. These include:

The committee’s outreach activities include responding to requests from student organizations for speakers on nuclear energy and non-proliferation topics, providing students serving appointments at Argonne with opportunities to learn about the various areas of work in which the NE division is active, and maintaining regular communications with university nuclear engineering programs.  We are interested in communicating with students at all levels, grade school through graduate school.

The Student Outreach Committee has a website at http://students.ne.anl.gov/outreach/; go to this website for information about current committee activities, as well as other information of interest to students.

Please feel free to contact the committee ( ) at any time.  And don’t forget about us when questions come up during the school year; you can ask us about information in various areas of specialization in nuclear energy and non-proliferation, information regarding student appointment opportunities within the NE division, speakers for colloquia at schools, etc.

Laural Briggs
Chair, NE Division Student Outreach Committee
